Visit our Washington, NJ location to explore our summer sunflower trail and take as many photos as you want! After you’re done walking the trail, you can hang out at our farm to pick berries and peaches, cut more summer flowers, visit our farm animals, and buy fresh produce at our farm market. She’s done all of the wedding flowers for family and friends and has an eye for color and symmetry in arrangements. Kristie learned from her mom and worked for a local florist in the offseason for a few winters. Together, they are excited to teach you what they know and help you create a beautiful arrangement you can take home and be proud of!

This fun program was designed for kids ages 2 & up who have an interest in farm life and love to spend time outside. Each week has it’s own farm theme (see the lineup for 2025 below). We’ll start each session with a quick lesson on the topic of the week followed by a visit to our barnyard. Then, we’ll pick something for the kids to take home and they can enjoy playing in the Activity Area for the duration of the program!

There’s no better way to start off your weekend than at a sunflower field! Join us for an hour-long flower arrangement workshop at the New Jersey Sunflower Trail on:
Friday, July 11th at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 12th at 10:00 a.m.
Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m.
Friday, August 15th at 6:00 p.m.
We’ll go over the basics of flower arranging, cut your own summer flowers and sunflowers for your own arrangement, and get to work on creating a one-of-a-kind bouquet to take home and admire all week long!
Your instructors will be Cindy and Kristie Von Thun. Cindy taught floral arrangement at Vo Tech for more than 30 years. She’s done all of the wedding flowers for family and friends and has an eye for color and symmetry in arrangements. Kristie learned from her mom and worked for a local florist in the offseason for a few winters. Together, they are excited to teach you what they know and help you create a beautiful arrangement you can take home and be proud of!

About Our New Jersey Farms
Five generations of Von Thuns, along with a hard working staff, have worked many long hours to bring you healthy and delicious Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables since 1913.
Over the years, the farm has become more diversified with greenhouses and u-pick berry and flower crops so families could come experience our farms and take home some delicious, fresh produce. Today our fields of farm fresh produce are joined by two apple orchards and acres and acres of pumpkins. We also have engaging community activities with our CSA Program, hayrides, an interactive corn maze, and Fall family weekends.
Von Thun’s is one of the few remaining family operated New Jersey farms, and we love being able to offer affordable experiences to make memories together as a family. We hope you’ll come out and visit us this season!
